Step 1: Finding the Required Onboarding Information
Provincial Sales Tax (PST) Account Number (PST-1234-1234)
You can find your Account number in your eTaxBC account under your "Provincial Sales Tax" account.
Additionally, it will be included in any official correspondence from British Columbia Ministry of Finance.
Filing Frequency:
Within eTaxBC, click the View Account link on the PST tax account tile
Review the cadence of the return periods listed to determine the filing frequency then select one of the following options:
Effective Registration Date (Only Required if Filing the First Return)
Paper Documents: Look for your effective date on your mailed registration confirmation letters from the Ministry of Finance.
Online: If you do not have access to the mailed registration confirmation documents, you can message the Ministry of Finance to request your Effective Registration Date online via your eTaxBC account.
Within eTaxBC, click the More… menu tab
Click the View Messages link
Click Send a Message
Click Provincial Sales Tax
Click the first (oldest) return
Click General
Template Subject: Effective Registration Date
Template Message: Hello, can you please confirm what my effective registration date and what periods are meant to be submitted on my first return? Thank you.
Click Submit
Please submit this information for Taxually’s review. We will use it to request access to your tax account. Once the access request has been submitted, we’ll notify you when it’s time to proceed to Step 2 below.
Step 2: How to Accept Taxually's Request For Online Access
Note: This step should be completed when Taxually informs you that they have submitted their third-party access request via eTaxBC.
PLEASE NOTE: This must be done by a user who has permission to manage other users in your Business Account.
Log in to your eTaxBC account
Click the Manage My Profile link
Click the More… menu tab
Select View Third-Party Requests for Access under the Access Management panel
If there are multiple access requests, select the link for the Lumatax (Michael Glover) account under the Requested Account ID column.
Review the information of the Lumatax user requesting access to your account
Select File Returns and Make Payments as the access level you want to provide
Select Approve, and then Submit
Then update Taxually in the British Columbia Onboarding section that you have approved our third-party access request.
