You’ve completed onboarding—what’s next?

Modified on Thu, 1 May at 12:44 AM

Once you’ve submitted all the required information, we begin preparing everything needed to file your tax returns. Here’s what happens next.

1. We review your business info and tax details

Our onboarding team checks what you’ve submitted—this includes:

  • Verifying tax numbers

  • Confirming access to tax portals

  • Identifying any jurisdictions that require registration

This usually takes 2–5 working days, but can take longer in some jurisdictions or if something is missing. If anything is missing or incomplete, we will reach out to you by email.

2. We register you where tax numbers are missing

If you’ve requested our help to obtain your tax numbers, we’ll prepare the registration packages and submit the necessary documentation for you.

Tax authorities carry out detailed checks before granting tax numbers, so we may come back to you with additional requests.

Once we receive your tax numbers from the tax authorities, we will notify you by email and provide you with a copy of your tax registration certificate. We will also add your tax registration to Stripe Tax automatically. You can find more information about setting up Stripe Tax here.

⏳ Registration timelines vary—most take between 2 and 8 weeks, depending on the country and authority.

3. Keep an eye on your Taxually app dashboard

The Taxually app dashboard in Stripe will show your current onboarding status. Here’s a short overview of the different statuses you might see:

  • Under review: this means that you have submitted a request to obtain a tax number and it’s currently being processed

  • Not started: this means that you have not yet subscribed for filings in this jurisdiction

  • Onboarding: means that you are in the process of providing your information to us

  • Ready to file: means that we’re set to begin filing

4. If you're transferring from another provider

You’ll remain responsible for submitting your final return with your current provider. Taxually will take over starting from the next eligible filing period after onboarding is complete.

5. We’ll reach out if we need anything

If any information is missing or unclear, we’ll email you with exactly what’s needed. You can also check your Taxually app at any time for updates.
