Taxually supports secure data uploads via SFTP, enabling clients to load data directly into the Taxually platform for processing and review. This can be done either manually or through automated scripts.
Access & Credentials
We will provide secure, unique credentials for your SFTP connection, including:
Hostname
Username
Password (or public key, if using key-based authentication)
Port (default: 22)
Credentials are issued per client and may include folder-level permissions to help manage data for multiple entities or business units.
Folder Structure
A dedicated folder structure can be created to match your organizational setup. For example:
/CompanyA/
/CompanyB/
/CompanyC/
Each folder can be linked to a separate Taxually account or reporting entity, allowing data to be routed correctly during processing.
Supported File Uploads
You can upload:
Transaction data (e.g., CSV, Excel)
Sales or purchase data exports
Pre-agreed data formats used for filings
If you're unsure about the expected structure or format, please reach out to your Taxually contact for a sample template or format specifications.
Note: Uploading data via SFTP follows the same structure requirements as manual uploads. Using SFTP does not change the expected data format.
Automation
You may choose to upload data:
Manually via an SFTP client like FileZilla, WinSCP, or Cyberduck
Automatically using cron jobs, scripts, or third-party integration tools
For automated uploads, ensure that files follow consistent naming conventions and are placed in the correct folder.
What Happens Next?
Once uploaded, your data will be ingested by the Taxually platform.
The data will then appear in the Taxually UI and be available for validation and processing.
You can log in to your Taxually account to review, validate, and track progress.
